Sāmih ʿAīd, a dissident from the Muslim Brotherhood, warned of the potential for Yemen’s conflict to spread to Egypt. Addressing the conflict, he said that it could not merely be characterized as a Shia-Sunni tribal conflict, explaining that even Egypt could face a similar crisis. He closed his statement saying that Egypt must work to remove ethnic classifications from its social relations for the sake of its future.
