On Monday, 698 tourists from various countries around the globe visited the historic city of Saint Catherine in the Sinai Peninsula. They visited several important religious, spiritual, and tourist sites in and around the city, including Mount Sinai and the Holy Valley. The city of Saint Catherine is one of Egypt’s most prominent religious sites and welcomes a large number of day visitors from other tourist destinations such as Sharm al-Shaykh and Dahab. Work is underway on the airport in Saint Catherine to allow it to accommodate a larger number of visitors in the future.
