The Secretary-General of the Muslim Council of Elders met with the Archbishop of Constantinople, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, in the Turkish city of Istanbul. They discussed how to combat hate speech, advance interfaith discussion and its role in promoting ideals of tolerance and human coexistence, and explore strategies for strengthening the role of religious leaders and symbols in addressing global issues.
