What is the Islamic ruling on transferring human organs and donating them? A question was submitted to the eminent Sheikh of Al-Azhar, Dr. Aḥmad al-Ṭayyib, and he answered it by saying: The Sharia [Sharīʿa] of Islam has honored the human body, whether it is alive or dead, and it has forbidden aggression against it or any of its members, just as it forbids selling a part of a person’s body, whether it is alive or dead.
