Bassām al-Zarqā, a leading member of the Nūr Party and advisor to president Muḥammad Mursī speaks about the term "salafism", the political principles of the Nūr Party, its approach to Sharīʿa and relation to other Salafī parties. He amplifies the importance of 'salafism' as the revival or return to the origin of Islam.

This interview was part of an Arab-West Report project for a book on Islamist movements during the year 2013. Data collected were placed online in June 2016. All interviewees gave their approval to publish the transcripts.
