Make a difference for Egypt
Join CIDT as researcher
Deadline for applications June 13, 2013
AWR Cairo, June 8, 2013
Egypt is facing much polarization and harmful polemics in which false claims and rumors are thrown around to discredit one’s opponent(s). This does not help in building a new Egypt in which parties of different convictions can work together for a better Egypt.
We are, therefore, searching for a well-motivated, non-partisan academic researcher and writer with translation skills. The researcher contributes to challenging misreporting in various media outlets which is needed in order to come to a rational dialogue between parties of different political and religious convictions. The researcher is expected to have in particular a good knowledge of Islamist movements in Egypt, since reporting on Islamists is so often clouded by misconceptions.
We have placed on our website an extensive job description.
The ideal candidate is fluent in both Arabic and English, has excellent (Internet) research skills, and can provide examples of work showing previous research experience. Of course the ideal candidate must have a sense of integrity and idealism and an affinity for non-partisan, intercultural dialogue.
The candidates should send their CV's with a letter of motivation to [email protected] mentioning the job title at the subject line.
Deadline for applications: June 13, 2013 (midnight).
Start date: August 1, 2013 (negotiable).
