Among the publications at the Cairo International Book Fair is the Arabic translation of When Jesus Became God by the Jewish-American author, Richard E. Rubenstein, published by Dār al-Yāsmīn Publishing and translated by Usāma Naṣṣār. 

The 437-page book has provoked debate since the announcement of its publication. It covers the issue of Jesus’s divinity in a historical narrative up to the agreement of the Nicene Creed, affirming the unity of the Father and the Son in essence. Rubenstein focuses on the controversial bishop Arius, who considered Jesus Christ, the Son, was not equal to God, the Father in rank, despite sharing the same essence.
