The Bishop of Benha and Quweisna asked the Governor of Qalyubiya to give a permission for restoring the church of the Holy Virgin and the Archangel Gabriel. A permit, ratified by the governor, was issued approving the restoration and the building of a four-story building to be used for social services. No sooner had the sanctioned construction works begun, than the police intervened and forced the workmen to stop. Later the governor cancelled the permit he issued.
