The prime minister of Italy criticized Islam by saying that the West was superior to it. If the superiority he spoke about is measured according to the criteria set by Hegel, that is authority, economical growth and technical inventions, then the Western civilization is of course superior. For Muslims, the criteria of superiority are different. They look down at the achievements of the West and believe that Islam is superior because of its moral and spiritual elevation.
