The professor of Philosophy and Islamic Doctrine at the Azhar

University Dr. Sa’ad Eddin Saleh states in his book titled “Al-Ekhwan Al-Muslimoun…ela Ayn?" [The

Muslim Brotherhood: To Where?] that the problem of the Muslim Brotherhood is the leadership. This

problem started after the death of the [first] supreme guide of the group, Hassan Al-Banna, who

did not prepare leaders to be his successors. This caused confusion inside the group, and the

result was a clash with the regime in Egypt.
