Egypt’s Copts reject to be called “Ahl Al-Dhimma” and “Al-Nasara” [Nazarenes] and their favorite term is “Copts” which means “Egyptians” in old hieroglyphic language.


Few days ago, a book titled “Al-Muwatana wa Al-Awlama…Al-Aqbat fi Asr Mutagheir” [Citizenship and Globalization…Copts in a Changing era] by Hany Labib ‘was published. This Coptic writer is known for his open mind and tolerance. The aim behind this book is realizing complete equality among all citizens. That is why the book discusses all the obstacles and problems standing before national unity.
