In the 21^st century, the dress code is on the list of demands to ensure the abolishing of discrimination based on race, faith or color. Women are at the center of the battle, and behind their back, is the bearded man with the short cloak over the short trousers. Those kind of men stress the importance of women’s dress code. Many false claims have been made about women, the most popular of which is that women rouse the [sexual] instincts of men. This has been one of the arguments used to dress women in veils. Many groups have been active trying to enforce gender separation in public places. They have been calling for women’s Niqāb [complete veil] and veil. They have vehemently opposed the campaign against female genital mutilation [FGM or female genital circumcision]. At the extreme end, the Taliban’s Fatāwá and opinions reduced women to being mere decoration and luxury for men’s life, and being sources of reproduction.

In our countries, in spite of the rights that women have gained, still until this day, the image of women being complementary to men has not yet been realized.
