Fahmī Huwaydī addressed a case of sectarian strife [the issue of Wafā’ Costantine] in his article in al-Ahrām. The article is significant because Huwaydī is a prominent political Islamist and al-Ahrām is a widely circulated newspaper. The purpose of this article is not to correct the misinformation provided in Huwaydī’s article, nor to defend his attack on Pope Shenouda, but to point out the level of objectivity present in his work. The reader deserves the right, at the end, to form his/her own opinion.
