Roth said that no progress has been made with Human Rights in Egypt, that Mubārak has set himself up as the alternative to the Muslim Brotherhood and his son as his successor, and that the Bush administration supports Mubārak because it fears the Brotherhood gaining power. Hopefully this will change with a new American president.
