Father ‘Izrā Fakhrī from Maghāghah Bishopbric stated that Bishop Aghathūn of Maghāghah had a meeting with Pope Shenouda who gave him a period to resolve the problem of building the new Bishopric with Ahmad Diyā’ al-Dīn, Minia's governor.

Fakhrī pointed out that Bishop Aghāthūn told the pope the story of the agreement he signed with the Minia governor. He stressed that he had signed the agreement out of respect for the governor and those in attendance, but he did not mean to abide by it literally. He also stressed to the pope that he will stand his ground.
