In response to his allegations on the Al-Jazeera Channel, Priest Dascors Shehata accused Dr. Mohamed Selim Al-Awa of "public incitement against churches and Christians." The Congregation Council in the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in Alexandria sent a message to President Hosny Mubarak requesting that he put an end to the issue and that the Ministry of Interior protect all places of worship.
