The Islamic Research Academy at the Azhar called an urgent meeting yesterday to discuss Bishop Bīshūy’s statements attacking the Qur'ān. The Academy labeled the statements “irresponsible” and expressed fear of them causing fitnah tā’ifīyah. Dr. Muṣṭafá al-Shakcah pointed out that an end should be put criticizing religion for the sake of national security.
