A large number of members of the Al-Jamāliyyah and Manshiyyat Nāsir Electoral College expressed their intentions to replace their current representatives. Candidates include two women (one of whom is a Copt and is up against three Coptic men for the same seat), two other Coptic men (one of whom resigned from the National Democratic Party to run independently), and one Sūfī shaykh.
