Following a joint statement against Al-fitnah al-tā’ifīyah, Pope Shenouda III placed a ban on protesting inside the Coptic Orthodox Cathedral in al-‘Abbāsiyyah and all Egytpian churches. The statement is believed to be aroused by President Muhammad Husnī Mubārak’s speech in which he warned against Fitnah.
