Hānī talks about Yūsuf al-Badrī’s comments on the ‘Umrāniyyah riots in Sawt al-Ummah newspaper (which Hānī claims to be biased against Copts). In the article, al-Badrī said that for every 16,000 Copts in Egypt there is one church and for every 18,000 Muslims there is one mosque.

He further said that the building of a church using a permit for a service centre is an act of betrayal and is evidence that weapons are being hidden inside churches. (Editor's note: Drs. Al-Badrī also said that there are foreign forces responsible for al-fitnah al-tā’ifīyah who plan for Copts to separate like Southern Sudan, alleging that this has always been Pope Shenouda III’s master plan, claiming this is why former President Muhammad Anwar al-Sadāt arrested him.

He addresses all the issues made by al-Badrī separately and criticizes them all, saying that al-Badrī is only echoing the words of the political Islamic wave by implying the Egyptian state’s vulnerability.
