Nine hundred imāms and orators are expected to be assigned by the Ministry of Endowments. Egypt’s Minister of Endowments, Dr. Mahmūd Hamdī Zaqzūq, stressed the serious and strict measures that are to be applied in the tests.

3500 of this year's graduates of the Azhar religious faculties had applied for the competition. The Ministry is expected to announce another competition in January 2011 to assign 3,000 new imāms from among the graduates of 2005-2010.
