Church attorney Ramses al-Najjār predicts most of the detainees arrested at the ‘Umrāniyyah riots will be released today, the last day of their 15-day custody period, due to the lack of evidence against them.
The ‘Umrāniyyah Church attorney, ‘Adil Mikhā’īl, said that 99% of the detainees have nothing to do with the incident. He said that among the 152 detainees are students, as well as people with heart, liver, and lung diseases.
Mikhā’īl also thanked the Attorney General for responding to his request for one of the sick detainees to be moved to a hospital for surgery.
