A number of Azhar scholars have rejected an Egyptian gas company’s plan to export gas to Israel over 20 years.

Dr. Nasr Farīd Wāsil, the former Grand Muftī of Egypt, told al-Dustūr that exporting gas to Israel is a sin according to Sharī‘ah, so long as it continues its aggression and usurpation of Jerusalem and carries on killing the defenseless Palestinian people.
