This article comments on the conflict between Muslims and Christians in Egypt. Many Christians in Egypt are scared to show their religion openly for fear of persecution, although in the past Egypt was a more open society with little sectarian strife. Many Christians feel this persecution through events like Nag Hammadi, and the destruction of the pig industry. Fear is spread through rumors of this persecution as well, although it is sometimes unclear if there is any truth to the tales. The tensions, however, are very real and may come from political and social relations.
