A love story between a Muslim girl and a Christian boy has initiated a series of crimes in Egypt.

Kamāl Sa‘īd Tūsūn, a Christian, allegedly used a forged birth certificate for Hind Muhammad Sa‘īd, a Muslim, using the name "Maryam Michael" to establish an import and export company. Investigations reveal that Tūsūn and Hind took out a fraudulent insurance policy in order to receive 250,000 Egyptian pounds.

North Giza prosecution demanded that two priests, a member of a local council, and five others be transferred to a criminal court to face forgery and bribery charges.
