According to Haytham 'Alī, who resigned from the Muslim Brotherhood on Thursday, March 31, the MB’s Irshād (Guidance) Bureau engaged in a secret meeting with former Vice President 'Umar Sulaymān, during which they negotiated an end of their participation in the revolution in exchange for political gains.

Moreover, 'Alī accused the MB leaders of having reached an agreement with the ousted Mubārak regime to turn a blind eye to election fraud in 2005 in return for parliamentary seats.
