Egypt's Muslims showed solidarity with their Coptic brothers and sisters during Christmas celebrations. Many attended Christmas services across the country; others gathered in the street in support of national unity.

In contrast to previous statements, investigators now suspect that the Alexandria suicide bomber came from Egypt's Delta region, north of Cairo. Authorities are also investigating a possible link to two 2009 bombs that exploded near a Cairo church and in the al-Husayn district, saying that the bomb used in the latest attack is similar to the previous incidents.
