Imāms and preachers began an afternoon protest for what they called “restoring dignity” from the Council of Ministers and the Cabinet of the Ministry of Awqaf, with sit-ins with a number of provinces in Upper Egypt and Bahriyya. Their demands include an increased living allowance, and the establishment of a union for imāms. They also emphasized that these protests are not intended to offend the government or the Ministry of Awqaf.
