The Azhar on Monday (April 16) launched a new initiative to draw up proper criteria for the formation of a constituent assembly and offer it as a guiding proposal for the board of the People’s Assembly and Shūrá Council when it re-form the constitution-drafting panel.

The initiative comes at the end of a series of meetings held at the Azhar headquarters between Grand Shaykh Ahmad al-Tayīb and political parties and movements, capped on Monday by a meeting with leaders of the Salafi Da’wah (Call) movement for the first time.
