Al-Tahrīr Square on Friday (June 29) hosted a mass gathering called Power Handover as President-elect Mursī addressed the participants and said no power will be above that of the people and whoever seeks the support of any other party but the people would definitely be on the losing side.

Mursī, who performed the Friday prayers at the Azhar before going to the iconic al-Tahrīr Square, also affirmed that all citizens are equal before law, whether those who voted for him or those who voted against him, noting he will not be lenient about retribution for the martyrs and the injured of the January 25, 2011 revolution.
