A large segment of the Egyptian people, including Copts, have been extremely panicked by the Muslim Brotherhood’s success in the presidential elections, but everyone – Muslims and Copts – have to know that Egyptians are in the same boat, together they will make it to the shores of safety or together they will drown.
Copts are the salt of the Egyptian soil and sons of the great Pharaonic civilization. When ‘Amr Ibn al-‘Ās came to Egypt with his army, the language of the people of Egypt changed into Arabic and the religion of the majority into Islam and regularly Copts have become a minority that later suffered violent persecution during the Ottoman and the Mameluk eras.
