A number of bearded police officers staged a protest off the Ministry of Interior on September 4, 2012 calling to be rehired (after they were dismissed for growing a beard).

The Court ruled in their favor and they (bearded-police officers) stressed that their protest will continue until they get back to their work, adding that the President (referring to Muhammad Mursī) is bearded then why not they are allowed to grow a beard like him and follow Prophet's Muhammad sunnah.
