'Amr Hamzāwi, Professor of Political Science and former member of parliament, described the new formation of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) and the Supreme Press Council as a "new attempt for dominance and hurting democracy".

During his meeting at al-Rawād at 10th of Ramadan City on September 5, 2012, Hamzāwī said that the dominance of one segment of the society of power is not assuring to achieving democracy. He added that here must be an honest and strong competition to build this democracy.
