The Public Prosecutor Dr. 'Abd al-Mijīd Mahmūd agreed to refer seven Coptic suspects and an American to Cairo Criminal Court for producing a movie dishonoring the Prophet Muhammad.

The Public Prosecutor requested that the Egyptian branch of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) arrest the suspects and remand them under custody and that they inform the U.S. authorities of handing the suspects to Egypt to try them.
