During Pope Benedict XVI's visit to Lebanon he met with Muslim and Christian leaders as well as foreign diplomats. The Vatican Pope stressed the need for religious freedom and said that it is a basic right.

He added that achieving peace requires a unified community and defending life. This approach not only will lead us to resent war and terrorism but also any attack on the lives of innocent individuals.
