Archpriest Buqtur Nāshid of the Mar Girgis Church in al-Nahdah said despite the relief amidst Coptic families in the village of Sharbāt after the decisions by a parliament’s fact-finding commission, these decisions need to be implemented on the ground.

The commission’s acknowledgement about the harms that befell the family of Abū Sulaymān is a positive thing, said Nāshid, adding Shaykh Sharīf al-Hawwārī’s pledges to protect Abū Sulaymān’s family were very important indications from a figure that is revered by everyone in the village.
