Al-Dustūr reports on a teacher who assaulted her colleague and students after she failed in convincing them to support the new constitution. Al-Waylī Secondary School subsidiary to Hadā’iq al-Qubbah municipality witnessed a disagreement between Nafīsah Mihanná, teacher of art classes and a number of students. Nafīsah had distributed copies of the new Constitution among the students during art class; as the students refused to tackle a discussion on the Constitution articles and asked their teacher to comply with the school program, the teacher insulted and accused them of anti-Muslim Brotherhood, which raised a heated argumentation between students and teacher. When other school teachers realized the situation in the classroom, one of the teachers tried to interfere and asked Nafīsah to leave political discussions out of the classroom and to comply with the educational program set by the ministry of education. Nafīsah slapped her teacher colleague, Suhayr Sabrī in front of the students and other teacher colleagues, upon which the school administration advised the assaulted teacher to file a procès-verbal (file no. 9985, 2012). Suhayr Sabrī, the assaulted teacher, who had complied with the rules and regulations of the ministry of education, was stunned on the decision met to transfer her to a remote school. Notable to mention is the poor health condition of Suhayr Sabrī who had undergone an open-heart surgery.
