Several Coptic movements and activists organize tomorrow (April 6) a silent protest in front of the Israeli Embassy against Israel's invitiation to Copts to migrate to Israel. Coptic activist, Wajīh Ya'qūb, coordinator of the protest, said that it is peaceful and will not disrupt traffic and that participants will carry signs demonstrated their allegiance to their country despite its problems.
The Church disowned the scouts who attacked journalists outside Virgin Mary Church in al-Zaytūn and the General Secretariat of Church Scouts said yesterday (April 4) that Bishop Mūsá of Youth deplores what happened, and announced the Church's respect for the press and journalists who contribute to the organization of Church activities and papal elections.
The Orthodox Church holds the first conference of colleges and seminaries in the papacy of Coptic Orthodox Pope Tawadros II in the next two months, in order to put in place new rules for its administration as well as discussing the establishment of a higher council for education and seminaries. The conference was held after the resignation of Bishop Abrām of Faiyum from the Dean of the College Seminary and the President of the Association of Alumni of the College, as well as Dr. Rushdī Wāsif's resigned from the College, in objection to Pope Tawadros injection of new blood into the college (Mustafá Rahūmah, al-Fatah, al-Watan, Apr. 5, p. 5).
