Ashraf al-Khāwjah, father of the kidnaped child Abanoub, said that the kidnaping of his child off Saint Paul Church in Shubrā al-Khaymah proved the love and fraternal ties between Muslims and Christians. He added that his Muslim neighbors supported his family during this tragedy and were praying for Allah to return Abanoub.

Al-Khāwjah added that he was thrilled when his child came back, noting that his child was grabbed off the church by the kidnappers who asked for a ransom of two million Egyptian pounds for his return (Khālid Hijāzī, al-Yawm al-Sābi’, April 7, p. 15). Read original text in Arabic.
