There is currently a sit-in on Tahrir Square in which people are saying that the Salafīs and Muslim Brotherhood are distorting the image of Islam. 28-year old Karīm Jād Rasmī, one of the members of the sit-in, has a unique story. Salafīs were the reason he converted to Islam and his allegiance has always been with the Salafīs  As of late however, and especially after the events of al-Khusūs, their shameful stance are politics and religion has made him critical of those he believes to be distorting the image of Islam. According to Karīm, Islam is a tolerant religion that believes in living peacefully with all religions. At the moment, Salafīs and Muslim Brotherhood are ignoring this aspect of Islam.
