Sohag Investigation Department revealed that a high school student is behind the mysterious murder of a mother and her three children at their home in the village of Kushh in Dār al-Salām. Additionally, investigations reported that the sister of the victims helped the defendant. The girl had agreed to kill her mother because she had refused to let her daughter marry the defendant. The girl’s three brothers unexpectedly returned home, and they decided to kill them, too, for fear of their crime being exposed. Finally, prosecutors decided to try the 31 accused for involvement in the events of al-Khusūs before a criminal court for a speedy trial. They are facing charges of thuggery, using violence, and possession of weapons without a license. (Al-Sayyīd Abū ‘Alī, ‘Amr al-Shaykh and ‘Abd al-Hakam al-Jindī, al-Misrī al-Yawm, Apr. 28, p. 1).
