The Coptic Orthodox Church has begun preparing for Easter celebrations amid concerns surrounding the invitation of government officials to attend the celebrations in the light of recent attacks upon the Church. Archbishop Sergius Sergius, Deputy of the Patriarchate for Administrative Affairs, said that the Church will invite the President, Prime Minister and the Speaker of the Shūrā Council as usual, whilst denying the occurrence of special measures. Rāmī Kāmil, Coptic front youth coordinator, said that the Church's invitation of official leadership runs contrary to the desire of Coptic movements, who wish to deny the attendance of government officials after the attack on the Catherdal and in al-Khusūs (ʿAbd al-Wahāb Shaʿbān, al-Wafd, Apr. 26, p. 2). Read original text in Arabic.
