Banī Swayf security forces strengthen their presence in the city of al-Wāsṭā, south of Banī Swayf, in front of Coptic sites following the announcement of a march to be held after Friday prayer today (Apr. 26), using forty formations fearing the re-eruption of clashes seen in Khusūs. The march comes amid accusations of the kidnap of a twenty-one year old Muslim student at Banī Swayf University. Her family accuse a Christian family of kidnapping her and converting her to Christianity and trafficking her to Turkey with a young Christian man early last March, and the deadline, set by the court, has passed for her return.
The father of the disappeared girl said that he had appealed to leading security and political figures in order to secure the return of his daughter, including the Ministry of Interior, the Head of Security, a presidential aide Dr. ʿImād ʿAbd al-Ghaffūr, the Freedom and Justice Party, al-Nūr Party, al-Wafd Party, al-Dustūr Party and al-Waṭan Party. He said none of these officials had helped him recover his daughter. Banī Swayf Prosecutor, Counselor Ḥamdī Fārūq, has order the renewal of custody of three member of the Christian family for cooperating their son in the kidnap and conversion of the young Muslim girl (Ḥāzim al-Khūlī, al-Shurūq al-Jadīd, Apr. 26, p. 3).
