Talking about this possibility of a new party has been civil rights activist Najīb Jubrā’īl, head of the Egyptian Organization for Human Rights (EUHRO). The new party would start from a base of 15 thousand members, and could take the name of "Egypt Baytunā" or “Egypt Our House”, which reproduces the formula of the Yisrael Beiteinu Party created in Israel, according to al-Misrīyūn. According to the activist, the Copts should see their presence increased in the lists of secular parties or of Islamic moderates. In the new Parliament - says Jubrā’īl – a part of the seats will be reserved for Copts, to ensure their adequate representation in the country.

Jubrā’īl added that he refuses the establishment of a political party in Egypt labeled as the Party of Christians. All prefer that Christians take part in groups and plural political parties and collaborate with others (Mu’taz al-Khusūsī, al-Misrīyūn, Jan. 12, p. 4). Read original text in Arabic.
