In Minya, the villages of Manbāl and Manshā'at Manbāl witnessed violent clashes between Muslims and Copts, a number of Muslims stormed Saint Tadros El Mashreky Church (al-Amīr Tadrous al-Mashriqī Church) vandalizing it and assaulting a man inside. Two Coptic grocery stores and two Coptic pharmacies were also destroyed. Clashes started when a bag of water was thrown at a Coptic girl who was passing through Manshā'at Manbāl. A reconciliation meeting was held between Coptic and Muslim elders, and an investigation unit was able to find and prosecute the perpetrators of the violence (Muhammad al-Zahrāwi, al-Tahrīr, May 15, p. 7). Read original text in Arabic.
