Public Prosecution continues their investigation into the circumstances of the fire that broke out at Virgin Mary Church in Tamā, Sohag governorate, and destroyed the church. The fire started at dawn on Monday (May 20) and as soon as security services were notified ten fire engines were dispatched to deal with it, as well a five ambulances. Examination shows after the outbreak of the fire flames were spread quickly by the wind and large amounts wood in the walls. The church's priest, Būlā Sam'ān, said the fire was caused by a short circuit and not by a criminal act.
