The Orthodox Church officially presented a legal memorandum to Egypt’s interim executive office regarding its objections to the constitutional declaration. The memo states that the Church understands the transitional nature of the declaration and its difference from the suspended constitution in its amendments. It added that there should be a new constitution to replace the suspended one rather than making amendments to it. Also the Church’s participation should not be limited to the 50-member societal committee, but should be part of the legal council that will draft the amendments.
