Usāmah Nabīl, 35, a Coptic deacon at Saint Antonius Church in the city, was reported missing by his family. His family has received phone calls demanding a ransom to release him. The family reported the kidnapping and the prosecution is investigating it.

Further, Joseph Fathī, pharmacist and resident of Malawī city, reported the disappearance of one his workers in the pharmacy.
