Nizār Ibrāhīm, first Assistant of al-Billīnā's Township Prosecution, ordered to remand al-Nimr Wahīb, 43-years-old, under custody for four days pending investigation after he killed a retired school principal in the village of Samātah. 

A security cordon was imposed inside the village for fear of fitnah tā'ifīyah as the victim was Muslim and the perpetrator a Christian, especially after the brother of the victim has rejected to receive condolences for his brother’s death (traditionally, condolences are rejected until the victim is avenged by his family). Muhammad al-Fahmī, head of al-Billīnā's Prosecution, said that the family of the deceased had refused to give their Christian brother, the murderer, his share in the inheritance that his Muslim father had left behind. Instead, the family of the victim beat and insulted him. He decided to take revenge on any family member he meets.
