On the social networking site Twitter, Pope Tawadros thanked the army, the police, and the Egyptian people for protesting the day before yesterday (July 26) against terrorism and violence saying that they had created hope for everyone.

On the other hand, in the opening of “al-Kirāzah” (a Church Magazine), the Pope stated that the Church's participation in the “roadmap” (announced by Minister of Defense Col. Gen. ‘Abd al-Fattāh al-Sīsī), and the decision to depose Morsi came from the Church's spiritual and national  duty. He added that the Church is not a political party, political front, or a coalition, but rather a spiritual body which loves and serves everyone unconditionally and is not hostile towards any parties.

The Church's bishops contended this; Coptic Orthodox Bishop Mūsá of Youth announced that Copts participated with their Muslim brothers in support of the January and June Revolutions and in painting Egypt's future, after ringing the Church bells simultaneously with the Adhān (Muslim call to prayer) to symbolize unity. Bishop Armia (Armīyā), General Bishop and head of the Coptic Cultural Center, announced his agreement with al-Sīsī's speech that aborted any conspiracies against Egypt.
